Editorial Policy

Aylesbury Finder aims to be welcoming and navigational. We organise information around the reader’s next step and make local options easier to find and compare.

What we cover

We publish local guides to businesses, restaurants, shopping, attractions and leisure activities. We aim to explain where an option is, what it offers and which practical details readers may want to check.

Aylesbury and the surrounding area

Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire. We distinguish the central streets and Market Square from residential areas such as Walton, Southcourt, Bedgrove, Elmhurst, Quarrendon, Meadowcroft, Haydon Hill, Berryfields, Buckingham Park, Kingsbrook, Fairford Leys, Watermead and Broughton. New neighbourhoods may be developing at different rates; we do not assume every planned facility is already open.

Stoke Mandeville, Weston Turville, Wendover, Waddesdon, Stone and Aston Clinton are separate settlements, not Aylesbury neighbourhoods. Stoke Mandeville Hospital is in the separate settlement of Stoke Mandeville. Waddesdon Manor is in Waddesdon, while the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is in Great Missenden. The Chiltern Hills and Grand Union Canal extend beyond the town; guides should identify the actual route or access point.

Buckinghamshire Council is the unitary authority, while Aylesbury Town Council has a distinct parish-level role. We identify the responsible body rather than treating all civic services as the same. Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway are separate railway stations serving different parts of town; current Chiltern Railways schedules should be checked before journey advice is published.

Sources and changing details

Where practical, we use sources close to the subject, including a business’s own information, Buckinghamshire Council, Aylesbury Town Council, venue and organiser pages, transport operators and relevant public bodies. Business status, shop tenants, opening hours, market days, parking arrangements, courses, attraction access and event schedules can change. We check current information where feasible and encourage readers to verify important details directly.

We do not invent businesses, ratings, customer feedback, prices, opening hours, event dates or service coverage. We distinguish selective school admissions from general school directories and do not imply that a school is automatically available to every local household. We verify current status before recommending venues whose operating arrangements may change, including child-focused attractions and cultural facilities.

We avoid unsupported claims about health, safety, school quality, property values, demographics or individual organisations. For medical, legal, financial or urgent matters, we provide general signposting only and direct readers to qualified professionals or official sources.

Recommendations and commercial relationships

A listing or recommendation is not automatically paid for or endorsed. If content is sponsored or has another commercial relationship, we will identify it clearly. Commercial arrangements do not by themselves determine our editorial view.

Corrections

To report a possible error, email [email protected]. Include the page address, the detail in question and a reliable source if possible. We review correction requests and update material errors where appropriate. Minor edits may be made without a separate note; substantial corrections may be identified on the page.

A request does not automatically require removal or amendment. We consider accuracy, relevance, privacy, safety and the public interest. We do not publish private personal information or unverified allegations about individuals.

Scope

Our guides are selective, not a complete directory. Inclusion is not a guarantee of quality, availability or suitability, and absence is not criticism. Confirm important details with the relevant organisation before making a decision.
